This custom 1,200 sqft, two bedroom, two bath ADU is being built to support a multigenerational living arrangement. Once complete, the homeowners will move into the ADU, while their daughter and her growing family, including a new baby, move into the primary home.
The two-story layout is designed with everyday living primarily on the first floor. The 750 sqft downstairs includes an open living room and kitchen along with the primary bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs, a second bedroom and full bathroom provide additional space for family or guests.
The property is located in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone and a special vegetation area, which introduces additional requirements for brush management, fire access, and fire hose pull distances. These factors play an important role in determining where the ADU can be located. This ADU be a tape and texture project, with SnapADU completing construction through drywall so the homeowners can take over the remaining finishes themselves.
