Homeowner Story: Bring aging family closer
This Escondido ADU is being built for the homeowner’s father to move closer, but may transition into a rental down the line. Thus, the floor plan is open and flexible so it can be modified as needed. An especially spacious unit, the two-story home features only two bedrooms, ensuring that residents enjoy a comfortable, open space. The floor plan is semi-custom, as the homeowners opted to modify our Snap ADU Standard 4BR/2BA Plan according to their needs. The home will include a custom wet bar, a bedroom on each floor, and an in-unit washer and dryer.

SnapADU team members know the city’s regulations and processes very well. Turnaround times at the city are lengthy, due to a sequential processing system in which the planning department does a full review prior to submitting the plans to the rest of the departments. Escondido requires in-person submissions which does add some processing time and expense as well.
