Built in front of the primary residence where Irene grew up, the ADU allows the couple to stay close to family while enjoying their own space.
The 3 bedroom, 1 bath layout is compact but highly functional, with a modern design and efficient use of every square foot. The three bedrooms give Harry and Irene a primary bedroom and an office for each person. One standout feature is the shared laundry room, which includes an exterior access door so that Irene’s parents in the main home can also use it. This shared space supports multi-generational living while keeping both households comfortable and independent.
Placing the ADU in the front yard made the most sense for this property as the primary home is set far back on the lot. This layout preserves privacy for both households while making efficient use of the available space.
