The unique placement of this front yard ADU means intergenerational living with privacy. The Escondido homeowners wanted to create a granny flat for their mother to live in, allowing more time for the family to spend together. Our standard 749 sqft two bedroom plan was selected, with the addition of a large wraparound porch. Also note the sleek and modern white flat panel cabinetry choices with gray countertops.

With plenty of kitchen space, this ADU under 750 sqft with two bedrooms and one bath is great for entertaining. A kitchen with pantry is standard, or add an island for more seating & storage options. The photos here show an enlarged kitchen with island, as well as additional French doors, which pushed the sliding glass doors towards the kitchen.

SnapADU team members know the city’s regulations and processes very well. Turnaround times at the city are lengthy, due to a sequential processing system in which the planning department does a full review prior to submitting the plans to the rest of the departments. Escondido requires in-person submissions which does add some processing time and expense as well.
Also, note that much of what is considered Escondido actually falls under the County of San Diego jurisdiction – we will happily check your property jurisdiction & zoning so you know what you can build.
